Calendar of Future Events
- August 28 — Annual Picnic and installation of officers. Turn in your quilts for the Ruby Red Challenge.
- September 25 — Carol Wilhoit will present “Gaps in my Quilting Education” During forty years of making quilts and being part of the quilting community, she has learned much about quilting. However, many techniques that she uses constantly are rarely discussed, and she almost missed learning about them. Fill some gaps in your education with the most valuable information that she almost failed to learn about thread, fabric, piecing, batting, and machine quilting.
- October 23 — 40th Anniversary Celebration. The Illini Country Stitchers quilt guild is celebrating 40 years of quilting, education, public service, and camaraderie. It will be a fun filled evening of remembrance and celebration. The 2025 Ruby Red Challenge Quilts will be displayed.
- Nov 20-21 — Candace Grisham rescheduled Tools of the Trade/The Dresden Reimagined. Candy is going to do us a special favor and combine two of her lectures into one! First, she's going to talk about Tools of the Trade. These are all the fun things we use in the sewing room that come from the hardware store. Next, she'll talk about what she's known for — The Dresden block. She'll talk about her journey with the block into the Modern quilt world. Includes a trunk show.
- Nov 21 — Dresden Springtime Candyce’s workshop, “Dresden Quilts Springtime” will incorporate a new pattern. Ruler is required. Candyce canceled her time with us in March 2025 due to illness. Her workshop was full at that time and those who were signed up for it will get first opportunity to sign up for this rescheduled one. This is similar to
what we learned 7 years ago when she came to
our guild but there are even more edge
treatments now that we will learn. If you didn't
get a chance to take her class last time, you
won't want to miss this. And if you did take her
class, did you finish anything? Do you remember
what she taught us? If not, you might want to
repeat the class.
